   Born on 18 January 1923 in Ostrow Wielkopolski, to Maria and Wladyslaw. He attended Gimnasium in Ostrow followed by four years in Korpus Kadetow in Rawicz till outbreak of war in 1939. In December 1939 during escape from occupied Poland to Romania he was captured by NKWD (Russian Secret Police) and sentenced to sixteen years hard labour in Siberia. In 1941 when Germany attacked Soviet Union he was released from prison in Siberia and joined Polish Army which was being formed in Russia. He belonged to Air Force section of the army and consequently was evacuated by ship, around Cape Town, to Scotland where he arrived in 1942. He joined Polish Flying School and became operational pilot in 1944. On completion of operational training AT 61 OTU, in December 1944 he was posted to No. 315 Sqn (Polish) flying  Mustang P-51s fighters. In this unit he remained till 15 th January 1947. In the squadron he completed 14 combat sorties (60hrs 5min) and 22 operational sorties. In March 1947 he joined Royal Air Force in the rank of Sgt. and served in the RAF till June 1968 retiring in the rank of Flight Lieutenant. He was employed as fighter, bomber, transport and test pilot, accumulating 5200 flying hour. Next three years he was employed as civilian ferry pilot. In 1971 he joined United Arab Emirates Air Force and retired in 1988 in the rank of Major, accumlating 11500 flying hours.
