Born on 24 September 1918. At the outbreak of war he was a student at the Polish Air Force College in Deblin. Following the German invasion of Poland he was evacuated to France via Rumania and Syria. After the fall of France he arrived in Britain in June 1940. He was commissioned on 1 December 1941. He underwent conversion training on British aircraft and in February 1942 obtained posting to No. 303 Squadron. He served with the unit until the end of 1946, becoming A Flight commander in January 1945.
