     Born on 18 September 1918 at Tashkent (then in Russian Empire), in a Polish family. He returned with his parents to Poland where he completed pirmary school education, and then learned at State Crafts-Industrial School in Przemysl. In 1936 he entered the Polish Air Force NCO School for Minors in Bydgoszcz. He graduated in 1939 at the School's new location in Krosno. He was posted to the 113th Fighter Flight of the 1st Air Regiment in Warsaw. During the 1939 campaign he fought with his unit, part of the Pursuit Brigade. On 18 September, after the Soviet invasion, he crossed Rumanian border at Sniatyn. Having arrived in France he was posted to the section of Maj. Eugeniusz Wyrwicki, attached to GC II/10, equipped with Bloch MB.152s. Upon the fall of France he flew to Algiers, and thence by sea to Britain. He arrived there on 17 July 1940 (receiving service no. 782849) and was posted to No.15 EFTS (EFTS) at Carlisle for conversion training. He then flew with No. 10 Bombing and Gunnery School at Dumfries. In February 1941 he commenced a fighter pilot's course at No. 57 OTU (OTU). Having completed the course, he was posted to No. 303 Squadron on 28 April 1941. He was commissioned on 1 January for his combat achievements (receiving officer's service no. P-2095). From 9 April 1943 he was an instructor at No. 58 OTU. On 3 November 1943 he was posted to No. 317 Sqn. On 18 May 1944, while returning from a Ranger' mission his Spitfire LF.IX ML275 JH-B was hit by flak on crossing the French coast west of Fecamp. He attempted to reach British coast, but had to ditch 5 miles off and he drowned. He was buried at Northwood Cemetery (London), grave no. H 444
