Born on 2 June 1914 at Zawiercie, son of Aleksander and Stefania. In January 1936 he joined the Polish Air Force College at Dêblin. On 15 October 1938 he was commissioned in the 11th class as 12th best and was posted to the 121st Fighter Flight of the 2nd Air Regiment. At the outbreak of the war he was a pilot of the forward fighter patrol based at Bielsko-Aleksandrowice. He took part in the 1939 campaign as a pilot the 121st Fighter Flight of the ‘Cracow’ Army aviation. On 17 September 1939 he flew across the Rumanian border. Subsequently he went to France by sea, arriving at Marseilles on 29 October 1939. He volunteered to go to Britain, receiving service no. 76704 there. After training at No. 6 OTU, in July 1940 he was posted to No. 253 Squadron RAF. On 17 October he was shot down (in Hurricane I P3537) and had to bail out. In November 1940 he transferred to No.303 Squadron, a in January 1941 to the newly formed No. 315 Squadron. On 21 September 1941 he was shot down into the sea in Supermarine Spitfire VB AB927 PK-S during Circus 101, and was not rescued. He was buried at the town cemetery at Quiberville (France), grave no. 11, military plot.
